Akari’s passion for health and well-being started 10 years ago when she completed her degree in nursing. Through her years of experience working in busy hospitals Akari realised the potential to provide even better and more comprehensive/holistic health care by complementing the strengths of conventional medicine with those of Chinese medicine. This led her to study Chinese medicine which she now practices with great enthusiasm/commitment particularly in the areas of pain management, digestive and mental health.
Akari is involved in projects at RMIT researching the use of acupuncture for post-partum depression and post-operative nausea and vomiting. In addition she co-facilitates a Take Charge of Your Life group which provides insights and strategies for developing and maintaining mental and emotional well-being.
Akari leads a busy life juggling work and study and nurtures herself by eating healthy food, travelling, outdoor adventures and spending quality time with family and friends.
